Compared with conventional crystalline silicon solar modules, amorphous silicon thin film solar cell modules are increasingly used in solar photovoltaic buildings. Therefore, here I would like to introduce new applications of amorphous silicon thin film solar modules in photovoltaic shading systems.
Generally speaking, the PV shading system is a new type of high-end shade photoelectric system installed on the wall of a building. It refers to the use of special fixtures to fix the shading module on the building wall and generate electricity through the shading module. New energy-saving and environmental-friendly photovoltaic application products that are used in buildings and have the functions of shading, wind and rain protection.
The system is mainly composed of sunshade module, bracket, push rod, control system, bus box, inverter and photovoltaic cable. If crystalline silicon cells are used, due to the presence of certain irregular gaps, in the summer under strong sunlight, the transmittance of light is high, leaving little spot in the interior, which will affect the effect of photovoltaic solar shading. In addition, due to the change of the projection angle of the solar rays in the four seasons, the installation angle of the sunshade module of the photovoltaic sunshade system also needs certain changes. The crystalline silicon solar module will cause the mechanical structure to adjust the installation angle of the sunshade module to be too complicated and the control system is cumbersome. What's more, due to the obvious hot spot effect of crystalline silicon components, it is prone to fire in the face of component fouling. In contrast, the use of amorphous silicon thin-film solar modules can avoid these problems and provide overall coordination with the exterior appearance of the building. In the main venue of the 4th Solar Energy Conference, the amorphous silicon thin-film solar module of Pule New Energy (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. was applied to the solar shading system project of the Huangming Solar Energy School. A total of 456 pieces of low-voltage amorphous silicon thin-film solar modules with a power of 20 kilowatts and a total of 152 sets of three-piece shading systems have been used in this project, based on the NASA website. With an average installation angle of 60°, the sunshine duration in the direction of the south is approximately: 1670 kWh per square meter. According to the system efficiency of 82%, the annual power generation capacity of the system is estimated to be 27,388 kWh, which can fully meet the indoor requirements of the building. Lighting and corridors need public lighting. In the future, this product will be rapidly promoted around the world.
